How it all started
Loie is a qualified singer, Jazz trained pianist and songwriting graduate. Her musical journey began as a songwriter before launching her into her artistry just last year. Her music has been influenced by a combination of her culturally enriched upbringing, being born and raised in Brixton with mixed family hertitage of Chinese-Trinidadian and her creative background. She grew up inspired by some the world’s most iconic female artists such as Jill Scott, Nina Simone, Kate Bush and Eva Cassidy.
Loie found a love for performing age thirteen, improvising with a house band at small jazz bar in Kensal Green called The Paradise. Since then she has opened shows of up to 350 attendee’s, supported R&B artist Etta Bond and performed at renowned venues all across London including The Hootenanny (Brixton), The Windmill (Brixton), The Grace (Islington), The Tabernacle (Notting Hill) & The Amazing Grace (London Bridge).
Independently, her music has been featured in digital magazines such as Notion and Wonderland. She's been found on New Music Friday, made ascending artist of week with Rebecca Judd on Apple Radio, 'Hide My Feel's' made track of the Week with DJ Ace on BBC 1Xtra and received a large number of radio plays including Radio 1, BBC London, Reprezent, Croydon FM and many more.
Her seductive and somewhat surreal sounds are a combination of soulful R&B grooves intertwined with Jazz undertones and playful pop music. 2021 saw Loie release her debut single, Take You There, produced by the phenomenal Kadiata and launched into her career with a string of singles produced by some of the UK’s most talented. With news of an EP on the horizon, we can’t wait to see what Loie is capable of. So keep an eye out for this future female icon.
Loie is self-managed and independent. She plans all her own shoots, videos, content, performs all her own stunts and even made this website that you scroll across now.
